Today, you are going to using your graphic organizer to write a paragraph.
1. Do a self edit of the Let Me Persuade You graphic organizer. Check for spelling and punctuation. Also, read over each of your sentence out loud to make sure that your sentences can be understood.
2. Rewrite your graphic organizer as a single paragraph. If you are writing on lined paper, please skip lines. Also, make sure that your writing is dark enough to be read easily.
3. If you are in my homeroom, you can put your final paragraph on the same page as the graphic organizer in our One Note. For those in 6-2 and 6-3, please email me a copy of your graphic organizer and good copy paragraph.

Now it is time for you to look at drawings from the execution of Thomas Scott. Both drawings show the same event, but look quite different. Examine both carefully and complete the new detective sheet to be added to your detective notebook. I have placed the pictures and detective sheet below and in my class notebook.
***You do not need to do the question about people from Ontario. This would be a question that we would normally answer together in class***

Today there are two markers to complete instead of one. They are: Marker 8, The Wooden Club; and Marker 9; The body of Thomas Scott! Please make sure to read the evidence carefully, as next week we are going to start the assignment to go along with the evidence.
Monday, May 11
Please watch the video for today's instructions. I have also attached a readable version of the markers below that you can read. The downloadable version is also available in the same spot as always.

On Monday and Wednesday for the next few weeks, I will be giving you a new piece of evidence to examine. Each time, you need to follow the steps from below. Please make sure to include all important information, especially anything that suggests Riel is a spokesperson or a traitor. Make sure to put this on the very first page so that you can compare the two possibilities.
1. Watch my video explanation (if you have not already watched it).
2. If you are in Mr. V's homeroom, open the Detective Notebook in your SS section. Open the Evidence Markers in my Content Library. If you are not in Mr. V's homeroom, download the Detective Notebook and Evidence Markers from below. 3. Read the new piece of evidence each day. It can be found on the page called Evidence Markers. 4. Complete the note page in the Detective Notebook for each marker and add any evidence for Riel being a spokesperson or traitor (page 1) |
|
You only need to download the notebook once. You can print it out, or you can fill in the information on a piece of loose leaf and send to me by email once you are done.
|
You will need to open this on Mondays and Wednesdays. The markers will be added into this document each day.

When choosing what to write down, consider the following:
